Meet Dr. Dugger

Dr. Dugger is a Dual Board-Certified psychiatrist who specializes in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. Dr. Dugger completed his BA at the University of Miami and his MD at the State University of New York’s Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Dr. Dugger did his residency and fellowship training at Northwell Zucker Hillside Hospital and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine affiliated Bronx Care Health System where he was Resident of the Year and Chief Fellow.  He obtained his MPH from New York Medical College and performed research at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health where he published extensively cited research.

Meet Erin Dugger, Nurse Practitioner

Erin Dugger is a dual-board certified nurse practitioner specializing in mental health and adult primary care. Recognizing the significance of building genuine connections, Erin creates a safe and accepting environment for healing. Understanding the unique struggles of each individual, Erin’s treatment plans are rooted in evidence-based medicine but also considerate of personal needs. Erin completed her nursing degree at the College of Mount Saint Vincent and earned her Masters in Public Health at New York Medical College. After working in Winthrop's Neurological ICU she went on to complete her Adult Nurse Practitioner Degree at Stony Brook University School of Nursing and earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Degree (PMHNP) from Wilkes University. She worked in New York's Northwell Health system for 10 years prior to moving to Sarasota.

Sarasota Minds works with children and adults, in person or online in Florida, Tennessee and New York. Dr. Dugger is also fluent in Spanish and can provide psychiatric services in Spanish as needed.

Initial Appointments

Initial evaluations are comprehensive psychiatric evaluations where diagnosis, treatment and referral recommendations may be made.

Psychotherapy

If appropriate, psychotherapy may be provided or referrals made to skilled clinicians.

Coordination of care

Working with other specialists and school staff, when permitted, may improve outcomes.

Psychopharmacology

Psychiatric prescriptions provided only if indicated. We avoid prescription of controlled substances if possible.

Child areas of focus

ADHD, ASD, Developmental Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, childhood anxiety and mood disorders.

Adult areas of focus

Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma and Schizophrenia as well as therapy support for tinnitus and complex clinical illness.
